The IAFD code of practice, under which we operate, is underpinned by the Customer Care Charter, which provides you with four important commitments:
Professionalism and Quality of Service
In arranging and conducting the chosen funeral.
- Delivering high standards of competence and conduct
- Serving your best interests as a customer
Integrity and Openness
In helping you make decisions about every aspect of the funeral being arranged, including its cost and payment
- Leaving you in control of decisions
- Agreeing charges for the funeral directors charges
- Agreeing disbursements (third party charges)
- Representing accurately services and charges in all advertising
Sensitivity and Confidentially
In respect of every request and detail in providing for the wishes of the deceased and the bereaved
- Arranging a funeral to your chosen and exact specification
- Working in strictest confidence on your behalf before, during and after the funeral
Redress
In the event of any problem which may arise in the course of the funeral.
- If you have a problem with funeral arrangements, the first thing to do is bring it to the attention of your funeral director
- If your funeral director cannot resolve the problem to your satisfaction, write to the National Secretary of the IAFD
- The IAFD undertakes to investigate, in the strictest confidence every complaint received to seek a satisfactory solution, and to respond fully in writing within thirty days
